HOW TO PREVENT COLD SORE OUTBREAKS
Over the years medical specialists have tried to create new remedies that would help to reduce the frequency of cold sore outbreaks and alleviate the discomfort associated with those outbreaks.

It's sad to say that there are maybe a couple of products that actually work and are worth mentioning or trying. As for the rest of the products and so-called remedies, most of them do not work and can actually cause more irritation and prolong the length of the outbreaks.

To effectively diminish the frequency of the outbreaks we need to know what triggers them in the first place.

Cold sore outbreaks can be triggered by these factors:
1. Excessive sunbathing.
2. Prolonged stress that results in fatigue.
3. Excessive drinking.
4. Poor diet (lacking in vitamins or nutritional value).
5. Weakened immune system.
6. Other illnesses (like cold or flu).

Now that we know the common triggers of cold sore outbreaks it is important to start working towards minimizing their impact on our lives.

To counteract aforementioned cold sore outbreak triggers:
1. Wear UV protective chapstick or lip balm particularly during hot sunny days.
2. Try to alleviate the impact of stress by doing fun, recreational activities after a long stressful day.
3. Do not drink in excess.
4. Include fruits and vegetable in your diet.
5. Excise regularly and try to have at least 8 hours of night sleep.
6. Get sufficient rest if overcome by cold, flu or any other illness.

In conclusion:

Preventing cold sores is more prudent than trying to get rid of them after the fact. If you keep the last six points in check you will notice that the frequency of your cold sore outbreaks will go significantly down. Some people who follow those simple steps have not had a single outbreak in years.
